It is said that drama is a purgation of emotions, but since a past few decades it has become a powerful social reformatory tool. In the present day scenario, with the degradation of moral values, the present society is forgetting its deep rooted culture.
The play ‘Aadhunik Yamlok’ is a meaningful comedy depicting the corruption that is taking a front seat in the modern society. Though the playwright derives its theme from Hinduism but the moral lesson is very universal and transcends all the religions.
‘Yamraj’ the God of Death in his previous incarnation was a chief minister and all the officials of his ‘Yamlok’ were the citizens of his state. Not to mention they all indulged in corruption. Now in ‘Yamlok’ they dispose of their duties with the same ‘earnestness’. Problems arise when God himself decides to inspect this Yamlok. How does this modern time Yamraj finds his way out, let us sit back and discover…..
