Play write
Bhishma Sahni's play "Muaawze",
(compensation) is a satire
that depicts the greed of
administrators, politcians
and industrialists. The plot
revolves around a
controversy between the
riot-stricken
"bourgeois-class" and the
corrupt administration. The
play very aptly depicts the
red-tapism, decay and rot
that has set in society. On
one hand there is a
representative of the
working class who makes a
desperate attempt to put an
end to the riots and on the
other hand it is his own
brother who seeks to amass
weapons for the "protection"
of his community. Dinu the
rickshaw puller falls prey
and gets caught in the web.
Is Dinu able to get any
compensation?
What
happens to Dinu?.................
