KABULIWALA - By Dr. Rabindranath Tagore

This story, written by the Bengali writer, Rabindranath Tagore, is about Abdur Rehman Khan, a middle-aged dry fruit seller from Afghanistan. He comes to Calcutta to sell his wares and befriends a young girl called Minnie who reminds him of his own daughter back in Afghanistan.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, he is accused of murder and pays the price for his mistakes with ten precious years of his life.

Finally fortune smiles on him and, with the help of the now grown-up Minnie and her family, he returns to his homeland to be reunited with his family.
