English has become a second language for much of the world, it has become “lingua franca,” or universal language, for reasons that speak to the influence of Western culture, economics and politics.

English is the language of the Internet, motion pictures, science and sports. It is the language spoken in the corridors of trade, and the diplomatic language spoken in the corridors of power.

At Wynberg-Allen, the children are exposed to the richness of this language through interaction in the classroom as well as through creative writing debates, elocution, class assemblies, school productions , movies, music etc.
